Oh! One vm. I have sab, Plex, qbitorrent, and krusader, Sinatra/radarr
How can only part of a share be on the array?

Post diagnostics instead of syslog. Diagnostics contains syslog and a lot more about your configuration. And please don't convert simple text files into pdf. Simple text files are so much easier to work with.
Tools - Diagnostics, attach complete Diagnostics ZIP file to your NEXT post.
Trurl, is there any chance you can you offer more advice?

right! i'll remember that thank you

Can someone tell me how to maintain a specific version and stop it from updating?
i have a private tracker (TV-Vault) that has a whitelist, and newer versions take a while to get on.
Ive been having problems with my docker image and i have to keep deleting it which means i have to redownload the docker, and its the most up to date.
can i roll it back to an older version? or specify a version?
is tags the answer? I found the pull command on docker.com for the version i want....damn, now what?
UPDATE
it WAS tags. i was getting screwed up because the end of the repository entry doesnt show "latest" but I added the version number after the colon and it worked perfect. (justfor the next guy)

Specify the exact version you need instead of "latest".
what do you mean

I guess the bigger question is, why is yours updating automatically? Unless you do something to change it, updates only happen when you push the update button.
ohhhh i see, ive been having problems with my docker image so i have to keep reinstalling them. so it probably updated then
so can i go to an older version?

I have a private torrent tracker that uses a whitelist for clients, and everytime Qbitorrent updates it causes me problems. can i stop it from updating?

It does, I went through quite a few years where my updates were unstable and erratic.
Unraid 6.7 had some issues with corruption that regularly broke sql databases:
It's supposed to be fixed..but at this point, my docker images live off my unraid array, so I never have the issue.
When I moved my docker images to a drive off of my array to `/mnt/disks/<ssdid>/appdata/`
All my database corruption issues stopped, I also saw a performance improvement when my containers were not fighting for io with the array (That could just be my specific setup though).
Since I'm backing up my containers every night to the array...I'm not really worried that they are not redundant.
Note, no one here seems to like that I do this/binhex does not recommend it
But it works, and has worked for quite a while now.
tldr; If you have an ssd to spare thats big enough for your docker images, maybe try unassigned devices, and run docker off that drive, and use the backups plugin to back up your containers.
i wanted to do that at the beginning but i was told not to? seems brilliant though

Elsewhere you asked:
What I do, is run the Backup/Restore Appdata plugin, it looks at my appdata directory which stores the state for _all_ my docker containers. Every night it makes a backup to `/mnt/user/appdata_backup`
If anything goes wrong, I can just go back to a particular time day in appdate_backup ([email protected]), extract the tar.gz archive, copy over the files for the docker thats misbehaving to my appdata directory, and I have not lost any state in plex/whatever container had issues.I normally keep maybe a month of backups around since I don't check in on my services very often to make sure they are working.
nice! I will try that!
My docker image is working now. its weird, sometimes i lose my plex stuff and sometimes i dont, does that make sense?

I just had my docker service fail and I have no idea why. It looks disk related?
can someone please take a minute and help me interpret my log and diagnostics?
everything in the log goes red at 16:58:32 and it says:
Apr 22 16:58:32 Tower root: starting dockerd ...
so i think it tried to restart but i dont know why.
thank you so much for your time!

remove it and create a new one

alright! that worked if i type in HOSTIP:9090
but the webui shortcut takes me to SAB? how to fix? -
1 hour ago, Gog said:
almost there. click on the Edit button for host port 3. Container port and host port BOTH need to be 9090
well I thought so but its Greyed out, wont let me edit.
If I create a new port entry is it the same?
-
11 hours ago, Gog said:
As documented in the container's readme, the WEBUI_PORT variable needs to match the port setting and you can't remap the port
so set 9090=9090 and set the variable WEBUI_PORT=9090
i edited the WEBUI port?
do you mind looking at some screenshots of my configs?

binhex doesn't control either qbittorent or sab, he just sets up the docker containers and templates. He has no control over what the application authors decide to use as their default port.
If you want help resolving your issues, you need to provide more information, like the docker run command for both applications. Normally you would just change only the host port to a unique number for your system, and access the application on the new port that you specified.
I understand you are frustrated, but your approach of blaming binhex for something that's not in his control isn't helping.
youre right, I apologize, I had some external factors stressing me out and I was being an asshat, sorry about that

Im having a really hard time changing the port 8080 to something, anything else.
why did you make it the same port as sab?
I changed host port 3 to 9090 and the webui is just blank, not even an error
please can someone help?
-
for the love of god and all that is holy, why did you share port 8080 between SAB and qbitorrent? this is brutal man, I cant get Qbitorrent to run

Settings - Docker - Stop The Service. Advanced View, delete the image
Re-enable docker
Apps Tab - Previous Apps - Check off whatever you want and hit the install button. Grab a beer
I'm talking within sab and deluge UIs Should be both set to /Downloads (and the incompletes also) Case matters
Every time I have to do this I lose everything in Plex, I have to completely start over
But i followed your steps and they work. thank you for your help I really appreciate it.
However,
my settings ARE set that way.
why did this happen? how can i prevent it?

It's hard to put that into context, but it does point the finger at sab downloading directly into the docker.img file due to a misconfiguration that you've made in Sab's settings in its GUI. And because of that, you've trashed the docker.img file and need to recreate it which is an easy and painless procedure (and this also explains why everything else is happening)
https://forums.unraid.net/topic/57181-docker-faq/#comment-564309
The answer is that this does not happen regularly, and is almost invariably either user error or hardware
I agree, its likely my ignorance, but I still feel frsuterated with the usability of the OS
it looks like, the last time I deleted the docker image and reinstalled everything, I forgot to change SABS configs
Can you help me understand a better way to recreate the docker image than to reinstall everything and reconfigure everything? how is that easy and painless? Is there a way to back those configurations up somehow that I am missing?
actually wait.....Sab is going to the right folder. I dont think thats correct, sab and deluge are both set to Downloads.
Im back to square one.
-
so Plex is just dead, again
what the hell kind of OS is this where this shit just happens regularly? I rebooted my server and plex doesnt work? I wake up and deluge is missing? this is a nightmare
-
first Sabnbd gave me error 403, then sonarr, now deluge.
i forced an update on sab and it fixed it. sonarr i deleted the image, that was two days ago. now deluge is giving it to me.
I cant keep deleting the whole docker file. its such a PITA.
wtf is going on?
UPDATE
Plex server was missing, AGAIN
i have had constant problems with unraid dockers. is there something connecting all of these?
I rebooted server and now it looks like everything is working again.
also, at one point SAB stopped downloading because "disk was full" but theres TB's of space?
Plex docker says its running but webui wont load and server is missing from clients.
-
okay so, the cache drives have no backup. is there a way to protect the vm's and dockers in case of drive failure? regularly back them up to the array?
ive formatted the old drive already so i think im screwed. that sucks but i just want to learn from this so it doesnt happen again.
Stuck on Bzroot, tried renaming EFI folder
in General Support
Posted · Edited by Amorbellum
Hey folks, i just updated unraid and it never booted back up.
stuck a monitor on my headless server and found it stuck on bzroot. renaming EFI folder didnt work. but it does change the message. instead of sticking at bzroot and retrying, it says bzroot...ok, and bzroot-gui...ok
but then i get:
invalid boot signature 0x0, bailing out
booting kernel failed: bad file number
anyone have ideas i can try?
