I've given you as much to go on as you have to us. Invalid expansion indicates the disks do not match their expected sizes and or positions as scanned by the newer version of Linux the 4.7 version of unRAID uses. Seriously, Either post a screen shot of the main web-management page, or better yet, attach a zipped copy of your syslog to your next post. Then we'll have the information needed to guide you. Instructions on grabbing a syslog are under troubleshooting in the wiki and ( I think) in a sticky post at the top of this forum. Joe L.

Ive been using unraid for a couple of years now without a hitch but when something goes wrong i realize im a total newb! The thought of losing TBs of data tends to make me sweat!! I seem to have managed to sort it, by unassigning all the drives then adding all the data drives, starting the array, stopping it then adding the Parity I seem to be back in action. The parity is now syncing so i'm a happy camper! sorry for any trouble!

The new operating system just enumerates the drives differently. We'll all be going through a somewhat similar issue when we upgrade to 5.0beta5... as it uses a slightly different format in its config/disk.cfg file. Joe L.
