ASUS P4G8X Deluxe

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Total noobie here but wanted to say that I was able to get the ASUS P4G8X Deluxe motherboard to work with unRAID.

It wouldn't boot from a USB device but by lurking around here I was able to get it going by using a kicker disk - which bring up my first question...

As I understand it the flash drive is used to provide some sort of protection to prevent piracy.  However it seems that the Basic 3 disk version may not have this protection - so, my question is, if I upgrade to the full version will I still be able to to use the kicker disk or do I need to get a MB that supports booting from a USB flash drive?

So far this seems like a great product with a knowledgeable and helpful user base!

I have some more questions and will probably be asking them in a more appropriate section of this forum but I haven't really experimented enough yet to really understand what I need to know LOL!
