July 13, 20214 yr I was wanting to replace my three 4-port Marvell sata cars with this 16 port sas/sata rocket raid 2840C card. Seems doable, the drives show up in the rocket raid device list, but are not passed thru to the OS. Driver missing maybe? or does some specific config need to be done in RocketRaid to designate them as JBOD? When I click "Create" in rocket raid, it says no valid drives found. Would that mean they need to be initialized before setting them as JBOD? will that damage/wipe the unraid data already on the drive? Just hoping someone here is using this card and can help, as I can't really find much info about it configuring this card. I guess worst case is initialize 1 drive at a time, set it as JBOD, then let unraid rebuild on the newly initialized drive. That should only take me about 26 days give or take to do the 13 disks. *yuck*
