Read/write speed problems of disk array

SUN

Recommended Posts

Without caching and parity, the array read speed cannot be maximized and the write speed can be maximized. In arrays with only a single disk, both read and write speeds can be maximized.

Example

UNRAID ConnectX-3 10GB NIC,4 ssd(sata3),no cech,no cache,no parity

PC QNAP QNA-UC5G1T 5GB NIC(usb),Optane 900P

SMB

UNRAID /mnt/user/XXX → PC C:\ 100MB/s~300MB/s

PC C:\ → UNRAID /mnt/user/XXX 400MB/s

UNRAID /mnt/disk1 (or disk2 disk3...) → PC C:\ 400MB/s

PC C:\ → UNRAID /mnt/disk1 (or disk2 disk3...) 400MB/s

Obviously, the reading speed of the array is abnormal.

I don't want to use cache because TLC SSDs are not reliable. I hope the developers can solve this problem.
