November 20, 200718 yr Howdy folks. currently, I'm using one of the "slow" Western Digital 1TB drives as my unRAID's parity drive. While I have no complaints about it, it is a "slower" drive in pure performance. I have recently purchased an Hitachi 1TB drive, and am wondering if it'd be worth it to switch out the WD for the Hitachi, as the parity drive, for the increased performance? And, if it is worth it, how difficult is it? Is it just remove WD drive, put in Hitachi, and have it rebuild itself? Thanks for any advice.
