Unraid 6.10rc1 - 10Gb card as default network interface issues

Featured Replies

Been running 6.10rc1 via onboard 1Gb NIC just fine for a while. Recent picked up a cheap 10Gb PCIe card to do some transfers between another unraid server I'm setting up. Noticed that without Eth0 or the onboard NIC being plugged in there seems to be no way for me to get any DNS and nothing seems to work. I can still get to the web interface and get to SMB shares. Just no outbound access it seems. Disabling the onboard NIC is possible in my bios but it is not an option for the 2nd server as not available its bios. Also notice the network rules seems to be gone that I have seen previously referenced.

I'm by no means well versed in Linux but I did try modifying the network.cfg and adding in hwaddr for the BR0 with eth0 to the 10Gb card MAC address and rebooting also did not work.

I just feel kind of surprised since I did list to some of the podcast on unraid 6.10 and them saying they invested more time into the 10Gb networking side of it but seems overly complicated to get it to work as the default network adapter without disabling the onboard NIC.

Am I missing something? Really seems like this shouldn't be as complicated as it appears right now.
