Calculation read-write & iops

Featured Replies

I often watch youteb linus techtip, and i'm interested in os-unraid.
I have a plan to build a central server for editing, in this plan I want to make 2 types of servers, type-1 for work servers, type-2 for file servers.

For type-1:
- 48 x SSD : Micron 5300 MAX Series 2.5" SATA 6.0Gb/s Solid State Drive
- 2 x Processors, Intel Specialized for Networking & NFV
- 24 x 8GB PC4-21300 2666MHz DDR4 ECC RDIMM

For type-2:
- 60 x 18TB SAS 3.0 12.0GB/s 7200RPM - 3.5"
- 2 x Processors, Intel Specialized for Networking & NFV
- 24 x 8GB PC4-21300 2666MHz DDR4 ECC RDIMM

I have some questions related to read-write mbps and iops.

Question for Type-1 :
- what is the maximum bandwidth mbps for the read-write, for example I use the traditional raid-10, and use the raid-best performance from unraid.
- From the calculation above, what is the maximum number of clients that can be obtained:
  * 1-editing-workstation 1-layer full-hd video ?
  * 1-editing-workstation 5-layer full-hd video ?
  * 1-editing-workstation 10-layer full-hd video ?

Question for Type-2 :
- what is the maximum bandwidth mbps for the read-write, for example I use the traditional raid-10, and use the raid-best performance from unraid.
- From the calculation above, what is the maximum number of clients that can be obtained:
  * 1-editing-workstation 1-layer full-hd video ?
