[SOLVED] PreClear question

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have just done a preclear on a 2TB WDEARS drive and the following line showed up in the results:

               ATTRIBUTE   NEW_VAL OLD_VAL FAILURE_THRESHOLD STATUS      RAW_VA

LUE

     Raw_Read_Error_Rate =   193     189           51        ok          2210

Is this anything to be concerned about? I installed and precleared 2 new drives and this line only showed up on one of them.

I'd just like to make sure it's nothing to worry about before adding it to the array.

The full result screen is below.

Hi All,

I have just done a preclear on a 2TB WDEARS drive and the following line showed up in the results:

                ATTRIBUTE   NEW_VAL OLD_VAL FAILURE_THRESHOLD STATUS      RAW_VA

LUE

      Raw_Read_Error_Rate =   193     189           51        ok          2210

Is this anything to be concerned about? I installed and precleared 2 new drives and this line only showed up on one of them.

Nothing to be concerned about.

The current value is 193, improved from the starting value of 189 at the beginning of the pre-clear.  The failure threshold is 51 for that attribute and you are nowhere near it.

other than that, your drive is fine.  It looks like its performance "improved" as it went through the burn in period.
