First Unraid Build

Featured Replies

Actually my 2nd.  I piecemeal built an Unraid server and then went all out on a new build.  I was a long time FreeNas user before.

  • Fractal Node 804 case
  • SuperMicro MBD-X11SCL-F-O Mobo
  • 32 GB of ECC Ram
  • Xeon E-2136
  • 1 -8TB drive
  • 3 - 6TB drive
  • 1 - 1TB cache drive SSD
  • Panasonic UJ-265 optical drive

Running several dockers which previously were separate devices or apps on a computer.   Plex, Emby, Tailscale, Logitechmediaserver, Handbrake, MakeMKV, ProtonMail Bridge, MotionEye, and MQTT.

Soon I'll move HomeAssistant over along with Zwave, and Zigbee stuff.

Nice to rip DVD's again and I found my old sleeve of CD's and DVD's of tens of thousands of photos I took when I went through a photography phase.   Really loving Unraid and the docker thing compared to FreeNAS or a plain Jane Ubuntu server.

I have details and a blog on my build but don't want to cross link anything as I'm new in town and not sure of the rules.
