February 10, 20224 yr Hey all. I'm working on wanting to build a server and just starting. I do a lot of video editing. My current PC is a 24 core threadripper, 128gb ram and a 3090. I am wanting to build a server that is fast enough to edit off of so I need transfer speeds of around 2000mbps which a past synology I built was able to do. I'm debating if i take my threadripper out of the PC and put it in a server. I also have a 5950x which is what I would replace in the PC. Also case wise, is there a case that I could mount under my desk. Its a massive massive l desk and I dont necisarily want to get a server rack. And I would want a lot of drive spots so that I can easily keep adding. If theres links to builds that people have done or whatever to point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.
