I know that 6Gb/s and 3Gb/s are backwards compatible but I want to make sure that unRaid won't have any problems with me using 6Gb/s drives with 3Gb/s controllers.

    Well, the new Hitachi Green 2TB drives are 6GBPS and they do get recommended around here. So they probably do work. I'm preclearing one right now with no issues.

    No issues that I've seen, though the Hitachi CoolSpins are the only SATAIII drives I've used.
