[SOLVED] after 4.7 update, "Mount" button disappear...

Featured Replies

I recently made a new machine from scratch, with some new HDDs and some old.

I've moved from unRAID 4.5x to 4.7. I also upgrade unMENU to 1.4.

Something I didn't notice is that in unMENU, on Disk Management window, the boot key that was there before didn't appear anymore.

And now, when I add a HDD on one USB port, it appear but there is no "mount" button anymore.

The HDD are already formatted (NTFS or FAT), the unRAID "see" the partitions, but there is only button to create reiserfs on it.

I simply want to mount those drive to copy some files locally, and with the previous system it was not that difficult.

I've just to mount and use MC to copy some files, then unmount and it was done.

Any clue?

I just uploaded a new version of that plugin for unMENU.  Please use the "Check for Updates" button on the user-scripts page and then check to see if the "mount" button now appears.

And I just figured out what was happening (thanks to your screen shot)

The partition type was not being determined if the disk was sleeping. Therefore, since no partition type was known, no mount button was present.

I just now fixed that, and the mount button should now appear if you get the most recent updates to unMENU.

Thanks for the screen-shot.  It really helped.

Please let me know if it now works as expected.

Hello Joe L;, thanks for the replies.

After the upgrade to unMENU, so before your last post :

After your last post, and after the last upgrade :

Now, I have to try if I can mount it.

Thanks for the screen-shot.  It really helped.

My pleasure

I am assuming that /dev/sds2 has no file-system...  (since it showed none in your last screen-shot)

Or, is it one unRAID might not recognize with the blkid or vol_id commands?

You can see I added a warning to the "Create reiserfs" button, and you'll find I also added a "are-you-sure confirmation" to it as well even if you do press the "Create reiserfs" button in error.

Let me know if it now works as expected.

It's strange about this /dev/sds2, I didn't find any free entry on the partition table, or even any free place on the HDD (with Acronis Disk Manager)???

After some test with other HDDs, everything seems very well.

Thanks a lot.

It is the placeholder for the "extended" partitions.  I see that now.  It does make some sense.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extended_boot_record

It pointed to the "logical" partition 5, the one with your data.
