(Solved) mATX MB recommendation for new unRaid server

Featured Replies

Can anyone recommend some good micro-ATX motherboards? I think I am leaning towards AMD as there seem to be more options for ECC RAM. I saw on these forums that B550's aren't recommended, but I cannot find many x570 mATX boards. Any recommendations would be appreciated. I haven't purchased the CPU yet, so I am still open to Intel if that's the best option. But I would like to get a CPU+MB combo that supports ECC RAM.

I am currently considering the ASUS TUF GAMING B550M-PLUS, or the Asrock B550M PHANTOM GAMING 4. Both of these have 2 PCIe 4 x16 slots, but I think if one slot is used the other is only running at x4. I am wondering if I can still use an HBA card (LSI 9207) in one of those slots (a video card will be in the 1st x16). from what I understand the LSI needs a x8 slot, which I think neither of these boards have. So if that is a issue, what other mATX boards would you recommend?

I found an mATX board that so far has been working well for my needs. I am using an ASRock X570M Pro4 MB. It has 8 SATA Ports which is all that I will need. I would recommend this board for those who might be looking for an mATX board for AM4 CPUs.
