maelzik
Hello! I am relatively new to self-hosting in general and have been wanting to build an unRAID server after exploring docker and self-hosting on my own Windows-based PC. My desires for its use are: Hosting game servers for friends (1-5 people) for games such as ARK & 7 Days To Die Plex Streaming (and associated *arr services) both locally and externally to some friends (about 4 people total) 4k doesn't really matter to me yet, but it might in the future. General Data storage & maybe PC/Phone backups I would also like to make it a smart-home hub, but I haven't looked into it yet. This is a build I have sort of thrown together but I don't know if it's overkill / underkill / hilariously wrong and would sincerely appreciate any advice or feedback. Again, any help is super appreciated, I feel like my inexperience is certainly showing but from what I have seen this community is amazingly supportive. I appreciate any and all feedback even if it's just a link to self-guided research pages. Edited November 3, 2022 by maelzik Formatting for easier reading Quote Link to comment
