dcw96161
Trying to understand this product. Two simple—if dumb—questions. I have a new iMac, tons of ram, 4tb Fusion Drive. Can I use this as a server? If so, does it have to be hardwired by ethernet all the time to use Unraid? Quote Link to comment
ConnerVT
No. Unraid only runs on Intel/AMD x86. Yes. It can be run as a server. It is basically a NAS with native resources to run both Docker containers and KVM virtual machines. It depends. The Trial version requires the system to be connected to the Internet for license validation. A paid licensed version can stand alone without any network connected. dcw96161
Thank you. I got the third part. The no/yes toggle is unclear. Quote Link to comment
Solution ConnerVT Posted March 11, 2023 Solution Share Posted March 11, 2023 Unraid cannot run on your Mac - It does not run on ARM processors, only x86 Intel/AMD processors. Unraid is basically a NAS (Network Attached Storage) server with native resources to run both Docker containers and KVM virtual machines. Quote Link to comment
