Need a little help

Recommended Posts

I'll describe the problem in as much detail as I can but its pretty straight forward.  I'm running unraid 5 and I have a box which currently has three 3.0 TB discs in it.  I bought 4 discs for the box but while my buddy was building it out I took the 4th 3.0 TB disc and formatted to MAC OS Journaled format and used it via a dock because I was out of space on my other discs (external drives not used in the raid array in any way).

Now that all my media has been transferred to the raid array I would love to get the fourth disc in and set it.  To prepare for that I formatted the drive to NTFS.  However when I plug it into the array it does not show up in the web guy.  If I restart the NAS (Not the array mind you but do a clean power down as the instructions suggest) it hangs on reboot if the 4th drive is in there.

I'm new to unraid and linux but my background is in programming so I could follow some simple exact instructions.  Can someone please tell me what I need to do to get this drive working so that I can set it up as my parity drive?  An help would be greatly appreciated.

That seems to be the problem.  But if I boot with this drive in there I can not seem to get the boot menu to come up.  If I boot without this drive none of the changes I make seem to be effective.

I'm trying to get to the boot menu by hitting F6 during boot, which works without this drive.  Is there something I can do to resolve this differently or something else I should be trying?
