NerdCage
I'm at a loss. My server keeps freezing at the same spot when I try to boot: "Applying /usr/lib/sysctl.d/60_qemu_postcopy_migration.conf..." I'm running Unraid 6.12.3 on a Dell Power Edge R720XD server. It was working, I shut down properly to physically move the server and now it will not boot back up. Here's a list of what I've tried so far: Copying my flash drive contents to a new USB stick Putting a fresh unRAID install on both the old and new USB sticks Removing all hard drives Disconnecting and reseating all cables/connections in the server Booting with just one CPU and one stick of RAM. Tried all combinations of CPUs and RAM sticks in each socket. Removing all power and CMOS battery, holding power button to drain. Every single one of the above has the same result, the system begins to boot and hangs on "Applying /usr/lib/sysctl.d/60_qemu_postcopy_migration.conf..." I've also tried putting a bootable copy of ubuntu on a USB stick. That boots with no problems and runs fine. In addition, I can boot using my Unraid USB drive on my other PC. I feel like I've exhausted everything. It's not corrupted config since the clean install fails at the same place. It's not the USB since it works in another PC. It's (probably) not hardware since Ubuntu boots fine on the server. Plus the only piece of hardware that I haven't isolated and tested is the motherboard, which I was starting to suspect until I had the successful Ubuntu boot. I've been unable to find what might be happening with the 60_qemu_postcopy_migration.conf step. Can anyone give me guidance on what else is left to try, or what might be happening at that point in the boot process that I should investigate further? Thanks! Quote Link to comment
NerdCage
Took a picture where it crashes. Hopefully this provides more insight. Quote Link to comment
BearitoVI
Hi, did you ever happen to figure out what your issue was? I'm trying to start unraid for the first time and it freezes at around the same spot every time - pretty close to where yours was freezing at. Quote Link to comment
