Changed CPU pinning of a VM that is running and it deleted the VM?!

I am on the latest non beta version and it completely deleted the VM I had on DISK2...... nothing there. The domains folder is there but it totally deleted my home assistant folder with the VM in it...... 

 

WTF? Why did this happen? Nothing in the logs from what I can see.....

 

LUCKILY I had a clone of it that was only a bit older than a month on another disk so I was able to recover most of it...... insanity why did this happen? And what can I do to take scheduled snapshots of these VM's?
