demechman
Has anyone discovered a way to create a torrent that is based on file/folder already in an unraid share. I have looked around and not really found a way to make it work. I have attempted to use the Thin Client approach with Deluge but the file systems just do not seem to work. Has anyone successfully created a torrent and uploaded it using unraid? Quote Link to comment
MrGrey
First... Why? 4 hours ago, demechman said: Has anyone successfully created a torrent and uploaded it using unraid? Not that I'm an expert, but Torrents aren't uploaded, are they? Aren't torrents "seeded"? I've heard of seed boxes (like virtual online machines) that will do it (seed) for you? If you actually want to seed a torrent from your server (in your home) then you can absolutely do it. MrGrey. Quote Link to comment
JSchrum1
If you install the nerdtools plugin you can install mktorrent. Its a CLI but its pretty easy to use, you'll just need to upload the file it spits out into the client of your choice. Quote Link to comment
demechman
I think its more an issue of creating a torrent directly on the server and the issue seems to be navigation of the file system. I was able to do it via a thin client on a second pc and using an smb share but that seems incredibly inefficient. I was hoping i could just point the docker to a folder and initiate the creation of the torrent. Quote Link to comment
