kappafo
Hi guys I have been running unraid on my server for about a month off some hardware I had laying around, and loving it so far But as my intel D945GCLF2 only has two sata ports I ordered this card: http://www.ebay.com/itm/180649569436 I installed it, and I now have four extra sata ports, and unraid sees the two new harddrives I put in, but when I try to add one of the drives to the array I get a bunch of ACPI errors: Nov 9 21:39:35 Tower kernel: ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.PCI0.LPC_.SMBR] (Node f184dc48), AE_AML_INFINITE_LOOP (20110413/psparse-536) Nov 9 21:39:35 Tower kernel: ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.PCI0.LPC_.INIT] (Node f184dc30), AE_AML_INFINITE_LOOP (20110413/psparse-536) Nov 9 21:39:35 Tower kernel: ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\_GPE._L00] (Node f184a1b0), AE_AML_INFINITE_LOOP (20110413/psparse-536) Nov 9 21:39:35 Tower kernel: ACPI Exception: AE_AML_INFINITE_LOOP, while evaluating GPE method [_L00] (20110413/evgpe-560) Nov 9 21:39:37 Tower kernel: ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.PCI0.LPC_.SMBR] (Node f184dc48), AE_AML_INFINITE_LOOP (20110413/psparse-536) Nov 9 21:39:37 Tower kernel: ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.PCI0.LPC_.INIT] (Node f184dc30), AE_AML_INFINITE_LOOP (20110413/psparse-536) Nov 9 21:39:37 Tower kernel: ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\_GPE._L00] (Node f184a1b0), AE_AML_INFINITE_LOOP (20110413/psparse-536) Nov 9 21:39:37 Tower kernel: ACPI Exception: AE_AML_INFINITE_LOOP, while evaluating GPE method [_L00] (20110413/evgpe-560) Nov 9 21:39:39 Tower kernel: ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.PCI0.LPC_.SMBR] (Node f184dc48), AE_AML_INFINITE_LOOP (20110413/psparse-536) Nov 9 21:39:39 Tower kernel: ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.PCI0.LPC_.INIT] (Node f184dc30), AE_AML_INFINITE_LOOP (20110413/psparse-536) Nov 9 21:39:39 Tower kernel: ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\_GPE._L00] (Node f184a1b0), AE_AML_INFINITE_LOOP (20110413/psparse-536) Nov 9 21:39:39 Tower kernel: ACPI Exception: AE_AML_INFINITE_LOOP, while evaluating GPE method [_L00] (20110413/evgpe-560) and it goes on for hundreds of lines. Full syslog attached. (I had to delete most of the repeating lines, because it made the file too big) What should I do? syslog-2011-11-09.txt Link to comment
Joe L.
Actually, I would expect it to continue for more than a few hundred lines, since it say it is an INFINITE LOOP AE_AML_INFINITE_LOOP, Link to comment
jroberge
I just found the same thing while trying to diagnose a potential disk/cable issue with a drive that has been running for about 5 months without issue. Seems these ACPI errors are quite common with the Intel D945GCLF series. One particular google result provided an answer for me. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/495694 Post #9 mentions the setting for fan speed control. I had this set to variable and and was getting this sequence of errors every 2 seconds with kworker running at 100%. I shut down, changed the BIOS setting to fixed at 100% fan speed and booted back up and no longer have the errors. I'm now running the Data-Rebuild I was when I noticed these and will see what results that brings for my drive issue. Link to comment
