Unraid does not boot without monitor connected

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Please tell me how to setup BIOS

on Asus PRIME N100I-D D4-CSM to make it boot without monitor connected to it :(. Can’t find option that is responsible for blocking booting when there is no monitor

I had a similar issue with my Ubuntu server before converting it to Unraid as remote connections would not render correctly without a monitor connection

My solution was to simply buy a dummy plug that I would attach to the graphics card output to trick the computer into thinking it was attached to a monitor; it's a quick-and-dirty solution that does the job just fine

This was the one I bought (it was for an older machine that didn't have HDMI or DisplayPort, but those variants exist too):

In my case the problem was the fast boot bios setting, it should be disable

I have an Asus Z690-P D4 CSM motherboard and had the same issue, the OS (unraid) does not start if the monitor is unplugged.

Fast boot was the problem. Without it works like a charm.

Thousand time Thanks, had the same issue with an ROG STRIX B760, with Fast Boot enabled and no display connected it did not boot... WTF....
