Replace my cache drive

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I'm new to unRAID, and I don't know all the inner workings yet. I'm trying to migrate my unRAID server from a bare metal server to a VM under Proxmox. From what I know this should be preety straight forward, however I tried to move appdata and docker folders from cache to array, and at some point mover stopped (freeze). After this, I used the unbalance plugin to move the folders. Updated docker configuration to use appdata and docker folders in /mnt/user instead of /mnt/cache, but it didn't see the containers. I also tried to restore from backup made by appdata backup plugin, but it didn't work either.

Cache is BTRFS, and array is XFS.

I will use a virtual disk image in the new unRAID VM under proxmox and I will like to switch it to XFS because the underlying storage is ZFS and I don't want to use double-cow BTRFS->ZFS.

Any hints would be appreciated.
