Add support for Thunderbolt in Network Settings

Featured Replies

Hello,

I’d like to request adding support for the Thunderbolt 3 Titan Ridge PCIe in Unraid’s network options. I have this card with the 2 pins hack to be recognized by unraid.

I used it before with ubuntu and it worked fine. I tried what is suggested here

  • ip link set thunderbolt0 up
  • ifconfig thunderbolt0 10.42.1.10 netmask 255.255.255.0

It does work but if i unplug and plug my usb cable, the thunderbolt0 interface dissapears and i need to reboot to do it all again. I am using unraid v7 beta2.

Adding this card as a configurable network interface in the Unraid GUI would offer a cheap alternative to classic 10G networking. It also can charge my laptop.

Sorry if this is not the right place to ask this.

Thank you for considering this request!

Best regards

I realize this is a rare use case but I'd also like to see this. Would love to have it show up as an interface on the networking page and allow bridging so the downstream device can get access to the network through the unraid box.
