I can't reach my 2nd router gateway IP address

Featured Replies

Hi, I have problem for quite a while now, and I can't solve it on my own.

I am testing a router, not my main one, it works on my unraid machine when I boot my main os drive directly -- not via unraid vm.

The problem arises when I boot the machine via Unraid VM.

The router has an IP subnet of `172.17.17.0/24` , the IP is 172.17.17.2.

My Unraid Guest VM connects to this router for testing purposes only (main router disconnected), it gets IP via DHCP via this router.

My Unraid Guest VM gets a valid DHCP IP from the router, however, I'm not able to ping the gateway or the router's IP address. BUT it works when doing it from a direct boot of the OS -- which is Linuxmint 20.

Please, I need help on troubleshooting on this one. It's been past several months now, still not able to fix it. Other routers I tested are fine, I tested routers with 192.168.0.* subnet, all were fine, BUT 172.17.17.2.

I tested the router from a laptop, no problem on there, only when using the Unraid Guest VM.

Any help, feedback will be greatly appreciated.
