GA-G33-DS3R

Featured Replies

Anybody tried the GA-G33-DS3R? Looking for a lower cost MB with 6-8SATA and onboard graphics. Dealt a lot with Gigabyte in other machines but not with unRaid?

Thanks

Checkout the Gigabyte in my SIG. It has 8 onboard SATA ports.

Cheers. Looks like a good card. Had any issues at all?

Only thing I was thinking about is the onboard graphics for the G33 is only $5 more than your card. In saying that I can attach an old graphics to the system and take out if want to keep power overheads down.

Cheers

I updated the BIOS with a USB stick. No problems whatsoever. Solid Board.

I have just finished successfully building my first UnRAID server.

It is based on the Gigabyte GA-G33-DS3R - chosen for the onboard SATA ports and video. The processor is an Intel E2220. I have two 500GB data disks and one 750GB disk for parity. I am currently using unRAID Server Basic but will upgrade to Plus soon for the User level security (and I think Tom/Lime Tech deserves payment for this fine piece of work).

The onboard gig-E connection does not appear to be working. I have not spent any time investigating this yet. I simply plugged in a spare NIC I had left over from another machine to get things up and going. When I get some time I will investigate the onboard connection issue.

Apart from this problem, all appears good. Thank you all on the forum for the great support info I have used during this build.

Cheers.
