Hi all!

I need some help about lags and network loss on unRAID.

I want to get rid of these problems before deciding to definitively quit this system I paid $109 if no solution exists! (lame because I start to like it...)

Some informations:

- I got these issues since I started with unRAID Unleashed 6.12.10, in may this year

- I made the OS Update to 6.12.13, and still have these issues

- I got 7 network cards, all 1 Gbps (5 Ethernet Ports on PCI-e, 1 Ethernet Port on the Motherboard and 1 USB3.2)

- each are configured as redondant (2 by 2) with "Mode 1 (active-backup) - default", then I configured bridges

How I configured my network cards:

- There are 2 PCI-e Ethernet Cards / each PCI-e cards got 2 Ethernet ports

  • each eth. ports of each card are linked together

- And I got 1 PCI-e Ethernet Card with only one port, linked with the one of my motherboard

- So I got 3 LANs: 2 are connected to routers (1 Internet Box / 1 LTE Box / 1 to my internal network)

- Lastly, the USB 3.2 is only used as 'management'. It's a UGreen Dongle

What's going on:

- from a fresh unRAID start, I can transfer datas at full speed (about 110MB) into the ISO share I created

- but, after 2 transfers, the speed crashes down to 1 MB and will never got up

- then I loose webUI access

- so I need to reboot

- and if I try to download some big files (like vdisks) from the 'domains' share to my computer, the speed turns around 20/22MB (100MB after rebooting unRAID)

NOTE that I don't have any network issues if I'm on Windows, on the same computer which is hosting unRAID

I cleared my motherboard cmos and flashed it to a new one, out since july (2024), but I still got the same issues

So maybe it's a driver issue, or a real unRAID bug. But please, can you help me to try to fix it?

In 'Attached' is my "unRAID System Devices".

I don't know what's going on. But, as I said, if I can't get rid of this, I leave definitely unRAID and maybe ask for a refund.

Thanks a lot, in advance

Try to do an iperf3 test first.

Sorry, I did not reply earlier. I found an another solution. Thanks for your answer though :) (hope it's the good word)

I left the 'bare metal' unRAID installation for a Nested solution, and it seems to work better. Why? I really don't know...

So now I work like this:

Host:

- VMware ESXi 6.7U3 (patch 202403001) as it supports my old SAS2008 8x Card

- vSwitch Promiscuous Mode and Forged transmits enabled

Guests

- unRAID (with the same USB Key) w/32G RAM

- ESXi 8.0U3b w/24G RAM

Case close ^^

Thanks to you

C.
