Lose internet connection

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a very strange bug that I don't understand. I'm using a remote Unraid server that normally works fine, except that whenever I start downloads that use a lot of bandwidth, I completely lose access to Unraid from the internet. However, if I connect through a VM (hosted on Unraid), I can access it and see that Unraid itself no longer has internet access (for example, MyUnraid authentication fails). I don’t understand why this issue only occurs when I’m using a lot of bandwidth, and what could be causing it?

Thank for any help

For technical information I used the Unraid version 7.0.0-beta.4 (but I have the same issue with the precedent beta) on an Asrock ASRock Z690 Extreme with a Intel® Core™ i7-14700 CPU 2 graphics card (3090, 4070) I am using bonding on two Ethernet ports, and my router supports it. I will attach the diagnostic file tomorrow.

  • 2 weeks later...

I thought I was going mad... I've been having the same issue for a couple of weeks. Also on 7.0.0 Beta 3 and 4.

Ethernet is down on my PC (which is the Unraid host & Windows VM for daily use), but for some reason it's also down on my wife's PC (not a VM).
My VM still works, I can access the Unraid server & docker containers locally, but not externally through a reverse proxy / cloudflare dns.
It doesn't seem to be an issue with my internet provider, since the wifi still works fine.

@Gunnm I've got the feeling my connection to Unraid generally got slower as well (accessing drives / the GUI / docker apps), are you also experiencing this?

Would be great if anyone could look into this or has tips on how to resolve this issue.

It also reassures me that I'm not alone, I'm actually having some slowness on my remote site, I've actually blocked the use of unraid bandwidth, so I haven't had the problem for a while, but it's frustrating not to be able to use all that bandwidth (you should try reducing the bandwidth to see if the bug still occurs).
