Issues Accessing Files/Folders

Featured Replies

I currently run an Active Directory environment in my homelab (home.lab) and joined my Unraid server (NU) to the AD instance a couple of years ago. I've been managing permissions to the shares via AD groups, for example the group "nu-anime-rw" grants users read/write access to the Anime share on NU. The account I'm attempting to access these Shares from (Owner) is in all of the '*-rw' groups, so in theory I should be able to read/write to any of the files in any of the shares.

I've been experiencing an issue accessing files created by/modified by my Unraid server on Windows devices on the domain, and also issues accessing files created/modified by users on the Windows devices from NU. Running New Permissions fixes this issue, but any new files will have the issue again. This is an issue that impacts all of my shares, for example if I download an anime via the binhex-qbittorrent docker container, I cannot access those files from my Windows PC until I run New Permissions. I can, however, access the files just fine from Krusader or Plex without running New Permissions.

This morning as a test, I downloaded Elfen Lied and compared the broken permissions against another folder I previously ran New Permissions on and can access now (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann):

Is there something I'm doing wrong here as far as managing permissions from AD?
