so i've been looking around for the past few days, and found people's suggestions. also found some sample builds on the this site, only problem is most are 3/4 years old. does anyone have any up to date sample build suggestions?

 

i'm pretty clueless on how to even begin putting together a system choosing  various hardware, so any help from you guys is greatly appreciated. i'm looking for a 24/7 system to run plex, couch potato, etc. also be nice to back my mac up to it using time machine. budget wise, less is better for me. aside from the obvious components, is there anything else that i will need?

There is plenty of "sample" builds in the Unraid Compulsive Design forum, and some tried and tested ones over at greenleaf-technology.com.  You're sure to find something that suits in one of those two locations
