Mobo suggestions

Featured Replies

Hi there. I am building an Unraid box from scratch. I plan to purchase the lifetime license once I have all my components in hand. On the Intel platform, have y’all come across a Mobo/CPU combo that can utilize 6+ native SATA connectors and 2+ native NVMe connectors without lane sharing or disabling one another without going into Xeon territory? I’m indifferent if it is from a mainstream manufacturer or industrial like CWWK or its rebrands.

Thanks for your feedback.

Take a look at ASRock z690 extreme, I'm doing s similar build and picked that as my motherboard, supporting 8x SATA and 3xNVMe and 3xPCIe lanes.

@NicoS7 thank you for the reply. Couldn’t sleep that night and ended up doing more research. I needed up with Gigabyte Z790 D DDR 4. It was half the price of the latest and greatest boards, allowed me to use 14th gen processors, and recycle my existing RAM. I decided to leave the latest and greatest spending for my upcoming Proxmox build, otherwise this would have been the perfect board for me. Thank you for the referral.
