Which of my existing drives to repurpose for unraid???

Featured Replies

Hi i would like to upgrade my unraid cache drive to 1tb.

I have the following drives ready to be deployed. These drives are already bought and functioning in my GAMING Rig I have to upgrade one of these drives to one of 4TB nvme that i already bought.
On my unraid system i dont use vms. Its strictly for data storage I do download a lot of data (torrents, ARRs) non critical replacable.
My whole network is connected with 10gbit networking. And i have 3 gbit internet connection with an intent to upgrade the internet to 8gbit. since its only 10 cad more.
1tb seagate firecuda 530 Pcie gen 4
1tb Sabrent rocket 4 pcie gen 4
1tb Sabrent rocket regular pcie gen3

Currently my unraid system is based on a 5700G with an x470 Taichi motherboard. I know its only pcie3.0 on based.
The motherboard itself will be upgrade to an msi x570 creation that i already have. This has 10gbit lan and pcie gen 4.
When ryzen 10000 releases and im ready to make the jump to the am5 Platform on my MAIN Gaming system.

This is a windows question

I manged to pick up an samsung 990evoplus 4tb and a sn7100 4tb for both i paid 300cad.

I want to use one of them in the main gaming rig 5950x with msi x570 creation.
The other one i want to use for my legion go for a couple of months as a 4tb ssd. Before i upgrade to legion go 2.

My main question is with these drives is which one is more power and heat efficient so I can use it in the legion go in a very compact place.
