Rebuild Time!

Featured Replies

I have been running a 12TB, i7, 32bg of ram server for many years. It uses 4 Ironwolf drives (one for parity) and a 1tb SSD for cache. I use it for archiving, backups, plex and occasional virtualising plus it has a few dockers etc.

It has been a great machine but its bulky and produces a lot of hot air and noise so I start looking at mini pc options; something like the Beelink ME mini or similar but although they are small and quiet I think that type of computer isn't going to it. They may not even run unraid properly.

Does anyone have any suggestions for an alterative build, either ssd or M.2, I liked to keep the option of virtualisation but if its a deal breaker then happy to for go. I'm just tired of my house being filled up with hot air and noise! TIA
