November 27, 2025Nov 27 Hi,I've setup an active-backup bonding interface between eth0 and eth1, to make upgrading networking equipment easier mainly. It kind of works, although I had to toggle the wireguard client tunnel on and off on every change as it seems to mess up the routing table, and one of my networking interface (the usb one) keeps dropping off the bond somehow.Regardless, I can't figure out how to configure the failover mac mode to be active, instead of the default none. The default shares one mac across both interfaces, which makes my switches pretty unhappy. For other machines (Talos Linux), I configure them in active mode which works quite well.On linux you'd do that by echoing active into /sys/class/net/bond0/bonding/fail_over_mac I believe, but unraid does not seem to have a setting for this.Am I missing it, is there a way to make this work ?Thanks
