Ubuntu VM settings for GPU Passthrough

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I've been running Unraid for a couple of years now with GPU passthrough configured on my Windows 10 VMs and everything is working perfectly there. Recently, I rebuilt my Ubuntu VM and ran into a strange issue with GPU passthrough...

The passthrough works fine during the initial ISO installation and immediately after a fresh install (I made a backup of the vdisk at this stage). However, as soon as I shutdown the VM after using or run any OS updates through the GUI, the passthrough stops working. I can reset by restoring from the backup, but this isn't ideal.

Has anyone experienced this before? Are there specific settings or configurations I should be looking at for Ubuntu VMs with GPU passthrough? I don't think this is a Unraid setup issue as it does work initially, and my other VMs are configured the same way and also work fine.

Thanks in advance!
