June 14, 201214 yr OK, so based on my other threads my version 5 is hosed, data is all fine on drives though. So I need to reinstall 4.7 to get to a working base, but my share configs are gone. I have one main share called 'media' which has sub folders underneath for 'music' 'photos' etc. So when I restore UNRAID to 4.7 how to ensure my data is accessible? Do I just create a new share called 'media' and all my data will magically show up? Want to be very cautious here.

Do not install a parity drive until AFTER you can see all your data. That should prevent unRAID from attempting to clear your drives. Be very cautious if the on-screen description of what will happen mentions clearing drives when the array is started. (in other words, do NOT start the array, or it will clear (completely write zeros) any disk it thinks is new)
June 14, 201214 yr Yup, just turn-on user share and start the array. The shares will appear and you can then set them up.
