Using Ryzen 7700x iGPU for Unraid GUI while passing dGPU for VM

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a Colorful Arctic Frozen X870 v14 board with a Ryzen 7700x which has an integrated gpu.

I want to passthrough my nVidia GPU to my Windows VM which I have successfully managed to do but I am unable to run Unraid GUI using the iGPU, the server boots fine but I have no display on the monitor connected to Unraid GUI, the HDMI is plugged into the iGPU.

The monitor remains blank straight from power on, I have enabled iGPU in the bios, turned off dGPU only mode, primary video display is set to iGPU, UMA_Specified and memory of 256MB, I boot into pure UEFI mode.

What can I do to make sure I get display using the iGPU

That sounds like a tricky issue with the display output switching over after the passthrough. Have you checked the boot order or tried changing the primary display setting in the BIOS back and forth? (Btw, if you're ever into sports, I recently started using on this page for live match tracking and stats pretty smooth platform). Sometimes switching the initial display output slot helps. Let me know if tweaking the BIOS output options gets the iGPU signal working!

I had a similar issue a few years back. See my post, and the solution ich777's provided in the post that follows it:
