September 12Sep 12 Many of us install MeTube from Community Applications. I wrote an Android client for it — two apps, really — and opened the source this week. The one that matters for a shared server is MeTube Lite: after a download finishes it pulls the file to the phone and then deletes it from the server, so the downloads share does not grow forever. MeTube Super is the opposite — it keeps everything on the server, streams from it, and adds tags, batch downloads and offline pinning. Two template settings are worth adding before anyone tries it (in the container's Edit page, add each one as a Variable):DELETE_FILE_ON_TRASHCAN=true — without it, deleting removes the history row and leaves the file on the array. Lite will report success truthfully and the share will still fill up.DOWNLOAD_DIRS_INDEXABLE=true — this is what lets the apps pull and stream the files back. Both, and two more, are in the setup guide with the symptom each one produces: https://github.com/sagheerys/metube-mobile/blob/main/docs/SERVER-SETUP.mdThe apps download nothing themselves — your MeTube container does all the work, they just drive it and read the result. It works outside the house too, through whatever reaches your server (reverse proxy or tunnel). Arabic and English, not affiliated with the MeTube project.Source and signed APKs: https://github.com/sagheerys/metube-mobile
