June 27, 201214 yr Hello everybody, I just received a preconfigured flash drive wit unRAID Server Plus 4.7 preinstalled. The systems boots from the stick but the OS fails to read the network settings upon boot. The error message reads: /etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf: line 18: /boot/config/network.cfg: No such file or directory. Subsequently the file /var/tmp/network.cfg is also missing. The machine can't get an IP from the Router as the network is unreachable. I checked the USB flash, the file USB-FLASH-ROOT/configure/network.cfg exists. I created the file /var/tmp/network.cfg while unRAID was running manually using vi and rebooted from the stick - the file was gone. Can anybody point me in the right direction what to do ? Thanks in advance Felix
June 27, 201214 yr Take the key file off the usb. In windows format the usb and reinstall unraid to get it. Put the key file back on the usb. Eject it correctly from windows. Start back up your unraid machine. Sent from my SGH-I727R using Tapatalk 2

Thanks in advance Felix Usually this is because the label on the file-system of the flash drive is not UNRAID (6 characters, all UPPER case) The flash drive is mounted at /boot when unRAID is started. If it is not mounted, the network.cfg cannot be found. It mounts it using the volume label. you can test if it is mounted by typing mount at the linux prompt after logging in as root. Another possibility is the USB port you are using for the flash drive is slow to initialize itself. Try another USB port. Lastly, it is possible you have a defective flash drive. (to test it you can try booting ANY other PC, just DO NOT ASSIGN ANY DRIVES, EVEN FOR A MOMENT) Contact lime-tech for how to proceed. To test the USB port you can boot the free version of unRAID on an alternative flash drive of your own. See if it has the same symptoms of not finding network.cfg.
June 27, 201214 yr Author Thank you for the quick replies. Joes' hint was a winner, after using a different USB Port the filesystem was mounted correctly. I first used a USB 3.0 port which did not work I had to use a USB 2.0 port. The Motherboard is a ASUS P8Z68-V LX. Best Regards Felix
