[GUIDE] Plekt on Unraid: sync Plex, Emby, Jellyfin and Trakt watch state (v2.2.4)

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Plekt v2.2.4 is out, and this guide is updated for the latest release. Plekt keeps watched status, resume progress and watch history in sync across Plex, Emby and Jellyfin, with optional Trakt sync.

I'm the author of Plekt and I'm sharing it for testing and feedback. It is AI-assisted development: I design, review and test every change, and AI is not part of the runtime behaviour.

What Plekt does

  • Keeps watched and unwatched state, resume progress and watch history aligned across your connected media servers.

  • Stores local watch history in SQLite and keeps persistent application data under one directory.

  • Shows sync outcomes and reasons in Sync Activity, with targeted retries for eligible results.

  • Connects to Trakt, and supports features such as ratings, watchlists and Now Playing.

  • v2.2.4 adds per-show episode orders (Aired, DVD or any other order TVDB lists), DVD-to-aired episode links, a Download range for Logs, an optional anonymous install check, and fixes for Trakt double writes and several sync, restore and sign-in gaps. Watches for a show in a non-Aired order are not sent to Simkl; Plex, Emby, Jellyfin and Trakt still receive them.

Install on Unraid

  1. Open Docker → Add Container.

  2. Set Name to plekt and Repository to ghcr.io/lasikiewicz/plekt:latest.

  3. Add a path mapping from host /mnt/user/appdata/plekt to container /data.

  4. Map host port 5056 to container port 5055.

  5. Leave ADMIN_PASSWORD blank for a fresh install to claim the administrator account in the WebUI. Alternatively, set a strong initial password. Keep the appdata path persistent.

  6. Start the container and open http://<UNRAID-IP>:5056.

  7. Claim the administrator account if prompted, complete the setup wizard, and connect your media servers and any optional providers.

Still running the Plembfin image? Switch to ghcr.io/lasikiewicz/plekt:latest. The old image names keep receiving updates until at least 11 April 2027.

Before the first write-back sync, create a Plekt backup. Start with a small library or limited provider scope so you can review the sync results before expanding it.

Existing Plembfin installs keep their existing appdata paths and data. This guide covers a new Plekt install; follow the project's upgrade instructions before changing an existing installation.

If you try Plekt on Unraid, feedback on the container setup and update experience is welcome.

Hi all,

Plekt v2.2.4 is out. The main addition is per-show episode orders: pick Aired, DVD or any other order TVDB lists for a show.

- Episode order: choose the order from the show's Episode order menu.

- Episode links: review, save, replace and remove DVD-to-aired links from the show menu.

- Logs: Download Logs now has a range choice, from the last hour up to all kept logs.

- Install check: an optional anonymous daily check, off until you turn it on.

Also fixed: Trakt double writes, and several sync, restore and sign-in gaps.

One thing to know: watches for a show in a non-Aired order are not sent to Simkl. Plex, Emby, Jellyfin and Trakt still receive them.

Still running the Plembfin image? Switch to ghcr.io/lasikiewicz/plekt:latest. The old image names keep receiving updates until at least 11 April 2027.
