Support thread for Talearr.

Talearr is an ebook and audiobook collection manager, a drop-in fork of Chaptarr (itself a Readarr fork). It reads the same /config and database as Chaptarr, so you can switch over and back without losing anything.

What it adds:

  • Book data from Hardcover with your own free API token. Without a token it keeps using the Chaptarr metadata server.

  • The right edition and recording: unabridged by default, with abridged and unabridged recordings of an audiobook kept together.

  • Less clutter: an author's catalog is filtered down to real books, and what you monitor or have files for is never removed.

  • Comics and manga as their own section.

  • Requests from Allseerr (my request app), which already works with Chaptarr and Talearr.

I built it for my own server with the help of AI, and decided to share it. I'll keep updating it as I have time.

Before you install:

  • Coming from Chaptarr: stop Chaptarr and point Talearr's Appdata at Chaptarr's appdata folder, or a copy of it. Keep a backup either way.

  • Get a free Hardcover API token (hardcover.app > Settings > API) and paste it in Talearr under Settings > Metadata.

  • For hardlinks, keep downloads and the library on the same share and map one parent folder.

Post questions or problems here, or open an issue on GitHub. Please don't report Talearr bugs to the Chaptarr team, since they didn't write this part.
