July 28, 201213 yr I have a brand new array that will not let me create any shares. After looking around i realized the problem was most likely and invalid file system. I ran the command "reiserfsck --check /dev/sda" which returned "run reiserfsck with the --rebuild-sb". The very next line in the instructions i was reading is: "Important Note #2!!! If the option --rebuild-sb is suggested, then PLEASE ask for assistance on the unRAID forums" ...... so here I am. As i mentioned the drive is brand new, was precleared, and is currently the only drive in the array aside from the parity disk. There is NO datat on this drive. Any help/advice to move forward would be much appreciated.

The file system is NOT on /dev/sda, but on the first partition on the disk. it is correct that reiserfsck did not find a file system on /dev/sda, since it is not there. If you attempt to force one there (by rebuilding it it there) you will corrupt the actual file system structure on the first partition. You should ALWAYS use the /dev/mdX device, unless you have no parity drive, as fixing it on the physical device as you are attempting will NOT fix parity. See the instructions in the wiki for how to "Check Disk File systems" Joe L.
