Verifying DMI Pool Data..

Featured Replies

I recently build/test unRAID 4.3.2, I am able to get it running for a couple day without rebooting the system but trying a lot of trying to get familiarize with the system as I am new to Linux. Today I shut down my server by going to the web interface, stop the array and shutdown. Now I am trying to boot it back up but my server getting stuck to "Verifying DMI pool Data..." What can I do to get pass this its been setting there for a long time. I did try to reboot, shutdown, pull the power cable and power it back up but I getting stuck with that message.

Can anybody help PLEASE!

This is my system just to get a hint.

Mobo: MSI K8N NEO4-F

Athlon 64 3500+ with 1G of RAM (2X512)

The "Verifying DMI pool" is a part of the BIOS pre-bootup process, and has nothing to do with unRAID.  After that message appears, the BIOS will be trying to locate the boot device (your unRAID USB stick) and tryi to boot off of it.  Normally if it can't, you'll get some sort of a boot failure message.  The fact that you are just hanging there and not getting a boot error is not normal, but I think it means it is having a problem locating your boot device.  It could be something different, though.

I'd recommend going back into the BIOS and making sure that the system is still configured to boot off the USB stick (like it was when you successfully booted).  The BIOS boot settings have been known to get changed if you ever try to boot without the USB stick in place.  That would be the first place I'd check.

You might also want to look in the "Best of" wiki page (see link in my sig).  There is a whole section dedicated to USB / Boot issues.
