November 11, 200817 yr Hello, A search shows this question has been asked several times, but I am yet to find a definitive answer. I have a 3ware 8506 SATA card I will be using in JBOD configuration and it would appear the default unRAID kernel does not include drivers for this card. How do I go about compiling the drivers into the kernel, or has someone else already done this and would like to share it with me? I did email Tom a few days ago, but am yet to receive a reply. November 11, 200817 yr I'm afraid the lack of 'a definitive answer' is an answer in itself. unRAID is a lean distro, designed for mainstream hardware, but Tom has been very good at adding support on request for cards and chipsets not currently included. For modifying the kernel, start with the Building a custom kernel page. There is a wealth of information in the link section at the bottom of that page.
