Switched to a RT-N66U router--no unRAID server to be found

Featured Replies

After switching to the N66U router, I can't access my unRAID server. I rebooted the server multiple times, plugged/unplugged the network cable, changed router firmware from Asus's to Tomato, then back to Asus's again--no luck. Of course, //tower & \\tower do not work.

All of my other devices were recognized by the router immediately. Any ideas?

Is it appearing as a connected client in your router's admin page? If yes then it's likely to be an issue with some sort of caching on your windows clients etc.

If no then it might be that you've assigned a fixed IP address to you unraid server or something similar...

Did you previously set an IP for the server manually in the settings on the server?

I don't remember doing that. It's been so long since I messed with its settings. It's just been working all along. How would I check? Pull out the USB stick, and check a file on it? And, to clarify, I do not see it in the router (see everything else, though).

Look at the network.cfg file in the config folder on the USB drive. Open it with a text editor like Notepad++ if you use Windows or TextEdit on a Mac. That is where any settings you set on the server would be stored.

That did the trick! I must have given it a static IP once upon a time.

Thanks for the quick help!
