I have one of the original Tams servers that i just replaced and was wondering if there was any interest in the separate components of the chassis, power supplys, hard drive trays, back planes etc.

 

If there is interest i'll part it out otherwise i'm just going to put the whole kit up on craigslist for local pickup, thing is way too dang heavy to ship anywhere.

I am in Birmingham,AL.

 

I was using it for an all in one vmware box.  I ended up splitting unraid apart from vmware and only needed half as many hot swaps. 

 

I ended up putting unraid in one of the rosewill 4u cases with a mix of istar 5/4 hot swap bays for a total of 14 drives.

 

The vmware server i ended up replacing with hyper-v and put into a supermicro CSE-822T-400LPB.

 

 

interesting, how did you manage unraid on vmware on this box?

I have tried with no result so far.

i replaced the cpu/mobo with a xeon x3440 and a supermicro x8sia-f to get passthrough to work.
