[SOLVED] Upgraded to 5.0 and forgot ssmtp gmail config

Featured Replies

I successfully upgraded to version 5.0! However I seem to have forgotten how to properly setup the ssmtp mail config for gmail. Listed below is how I set it up and it has not been sending status reports (Yes, I have installed "unRAID Status Alert sent hourly by e-mail"). Do my settings look correct for gmail? Also, is there a way to send a test email?

Configuration Variables

Forward "root" email to: [email protected]

Email Server: smtp.gmail.com:587

Use TLS?: YES

Mail ID: MY-EMAIL

Mail Password: MY PASSWORD

Mail Domain: localhost

From Line Override: YES

Figured it out! What I didn't realize is that you must click the "Re-install with new values" button after saving the newly edited config variables.  Otherwise, the new values will not get used until you reboot. Also, to test you email just type "echo -e "Subject: a test\n\nThis is the email body." | ssmtp -d root" into a telnet session (it helps to read the package description...). Here are the working settings I used for gmail.
