I'm currently using a Supermicro X7DBE-X along with 3 AOC-SAT2-MV8 cards and have my drives connected through those cards.  I've tried connecting a ssd directly to the sata port on the motherboard, but haven't had any luck getting it to work.

 

Has anyone else with this board successfully used the MB sata ports?
