How do I identify my disks

Featured Replies

Noob question, I think it is so simple I might be the first person to ask this...

Anyway, I found this great thread: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=2817.0  and I decided that I want to test my new system before I copy anything over to it.  Well, I was playing a little bit before I got started with this and I added the disks to the drive, had it do a parity check, etc. before I got down to business.  So, I figure before I do anything, I will remove the disks from their assignments on the 'devices' page of the web interface.  So, I stop the array, then set everything to 'unassigned'.  Then, I want to run the "preclear_disk.sh" script and I realize that I don't know what the 'names' of my disks are.  As of right now, when I view the tower in windows explorer, the only 'folder' that shows up is the flash drive.

So, what are the 'names' of my drives?  And, if the array is stopped, will the disks not show up in windows explorer?  I'm happy to do the research and learn myself, but I haven't been able to find anything that tells me what I am looking for.

Thanks in advance...

Chris

Sorry, I just realized this was the wrong forum for a question like this (obviously not about hardware).  I'll try to pay more attention next time...
