Newegg, Amazon and most other online retailers dont carry it anymore. Would I be ok if I go with the newer Asus P5E VM DO board? Anything I should look out for? Thanks in advance. Link to comment
SSD Posted March 9, 2009 Share Posted March 9, 2009 The P5B VM DO is a good motherboard for unRAID, but is unavailable in the marketplace. You may be able to find one on eBay, on the shelf in a Mom and Pop computer store, or maybe available through some obscure e-tailer. The P5E VM DO is not the same motherboard, but is in use by some forum members. If you are looking to buy a "sure thing" in terms of compatibility, I'd suggest the SuperMicro C2SEE. Limetech uses them in their current generation of servers. Link to comment

I guess I'll weigh the options of a more expensive but trouble-free setup of the Supermicro or a cheaper alternative, the P5E. Link to comment
